Heavy Roman silk gives this anarkali a rich, matte sheen and enough body to hold a wide, sweeping flare. The square-cut yoke at the round neckline is filled with gold cording and sequin embroidery, with a short placket and tiny buttons down the centre. Small embroidered buttis are scattered across the sleeves, and the cuffs carry a scalloped embroidered border that ties back to the neckline.
The hem is the real statement. A deep band of dense floral jaal sits between stacked geometric borders, all worked in gold cording and sequins, so the flare looks rich from across the room. The matching Roman silk dupatta repeats the border on all four sides with buttis across the body and small latkans at the corners. Add chandbalis and gold juttis and you are ready.
