Look closely and this saree tells a story. The ivory chinon silk is printed with a whole village of folk motifs: painted elephants, domed pavilions, palm trees, peacocks, and little patchwork squares in magenta, teal, and saffron. It reads playful up close and soft from across the room, which makes it easy to wear from a daytime pooja to an evening function.
A deep magenta border frames the drape, worked in multi thread embroidery and sequins with a parade of elephants along the hem. The stitched Bangalori silk blouse matches it, with a quilted sequin pattern on the sleeves and embroidered motifs across the back.
